Experimental Validation and Evaluation of a Coupled Twist-Camber Morphing Wing Concept

چکیده

A morphing wing concept allowing for coupled twist-camber shape adaptation is proposed. The design based on an optimized thickness distribution both spanwise and chordwise to be able morph the sections into targeted airfoil shapes. Simultaneously, twist affected by actuation. provides a higher degree of control lift which can used roll control, drag minimization, active load alleviation. Static deformation flight tests have been performed evaluate quantify performance proposed mechanism. ground include mapped actuated shapes, mass actuation power requirements. Roll authority, alleviation, aerodynamic efficiency estimates different configurations were calculated using lifting line theory with viscous 2D data. authority was estimated low when compared general aviation aircraft while alleviation capability found high.
